Dec. 27, 2023
Clinton-Warren Joint Fire District Chief Robert Wysong died after suffering a medical emergency after responding to a call.

Firefighters in the Clinton-Warren Joint Fire District are mourning the loss of their longtime chief.

Robert Wysong, 70, responded to a brush fire Christmas Eve, and was later found unresponsive at home by his wife, the U.S. Fire Administration reported.

He was taken to Clinton Memorial Hospital for treatment and then transported to Miami Valley Hospital.

Wysong, who had been with the fire department for 52 years, passed away Dec. 26.

"Chief Wysong is in all of our hearts, and the loss is enormous! As a prominent staple in the community, Chief's impact on the community was equally as large as the hole in our hearts! Rest easy Chief, we love you and hope you are able to peacefully rest after one hell of a battle!," the department shared on Facebook.
